Dominic was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. They began performing at the age of 9, competing in poetry and monologue competitions, under the tutelage of their mother, a speech and drama teacher. After a stint in The Dublin Youth Theatre, they made their screen acting debut in the 1998 Irish language film, ‘Lipservice’ directed by Paul Mercier, where they played the boy who speaks French. Dominic then went on to take Theatre Studies at Inchicore Senior College. There, they studied, mime, contemporary dance, improvisation, stage management and video production. In 2010, Dominic began working as a physical theatre performer with TIE theatre companies in Spain. They performed for one season with Nu Accents, two seasons with SOS In Action and five seasons with Chameleon Theatre. They also started doing stand up comedy that same year.
In 2014, Dominic co-founded Atlantis Improv and Atlantis Improv junior and began performing ticketed shows for adults and children in Madrid. The following year, they co-founded Diamonds Comedy and began co-compering tickets comedy shows for adults.
They joined MAD Improv as a student and later the performance troupe as a paid performer. In 2015, Dominic co-founded the film production group, Sketch Pats, co-producing five Youtube comedy sketches. They also starred in the comedy short, ‘The Mature Student’ produced by College Times in Dublin. In 2017, Dominic returned their focus to film production and acting, with supporting roles in the short films, Monday’ and ‘The Stranger’. Dominic then directed their first music video, ‘Guiri Gringo’, produced their
own first short film, ‘Heartbeat’ and was also cast in their first lead role, in the indie feature, ‘36 Husbands’. Dominic then returned to studying specifically screen acting and trained with Scott Cleverdon, Assumpta Serna and David Penn. In 2019 they began working as producer/director with Citricity Ltd in Yorkshire, on a proof of concept for a TV pilot.
They completed a three month internship in broadcasting with Relaks Radio in London, where they conceived, co-produced and presented the talk show, The Art & Spirituality Show, interviewing artists, actors, comedians and poets.
Dominic also began training with Manuel Puro’s The Acting Habit, taking multiple feedback workshops in screen acting with various casting directors in both English and Spanish.
They trained with The Performance Captured Academy in London, in stage combat for Motion Capture, for four months in level one Swords. This year, 2021, they’ve continued that training in Motion Capture and has spent 20 hours in the volume at Centroid 3D.
Dominic also began studying with The Frank Stein Studio in Barcelona (online) with Luci Lenox this year and has most recently completed an eight week scene study class.
They are currently a Master of Ceremonies with The Lucky Cow Quiz Company, hosting at various venues in London.
In 2020, Dominic became a published children’s book author of ‘The Secret Words’ published by Puppy Dogs and Ice Cream Publishers in San Diego, USA.
